Originally from Colorado, Lam Thanh Nguyen found his passion for Film and Video production at University of Denver. Lam’s film career began in 2004, with an internship on the set of a musical feature, Ichabod! (PBS), where he was later hired
as lead editor and earned a co-producer credit.

Since coming out to LA to pursue editing, Lam's career has flourished, leading him to work with many award-winning directors and producers.

His recent work includes TV documentary featuring Chip and Joanna Gaines The Courage to Run (Magnolia Network / MAX), Carey Williams' R#J (Bazelevs / Interface Films), a fresh modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet that premiered at
2021 Sundance Film Festival and 2021 SXSW, earning Lam a Special Jury Adobe Editing Award.

In 2022, Lam reunited with Carey on Emergency (Amazon MGM / Temple Hill Entertainment). Their successful collaboration led to headline the US Dramatic Competition at 2022 Sundance Film Festival and 2022 SXSW.

He worked as an Associate Producer / Editor for A Great Divide (Apple TV, Gravitas Ventures) with 13 film festival selections including People’s Choice Best Performance Award by Ken Jeong and Jae Suh Park at Vancouver Asian Film Festival and Best Narrative Feature Award at Silicon Valley Asian Pacific Filmfest and DisOrient Asian American Film Festival.

Lam just finished working on Mercy (Amazon MGM / Atlas Entertainment / Bazelevs) that stars Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. The film is slated to release worldwide in theaters January 2026.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Lam’s breadth of work in film and documentary led him to being invited to the prestigious Sundance Directors Lab in 2022 & 2023. Taking place annually at the Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah, Lam worked alongside filmmakers as they participated in roundtable discussions, presentations and one-on-one meetings, as well as rehearsing, shooting and editing a scene from their work-in-progress screenplays.
